Nirvana - In Utero - LP (180 Gram)
Nirvana's third and final studio album, In Utero, was released on September 21, 1993. After the success of Nevermind, the band sought a more abrasive and raw sound, hiring producer Steve Albini to achieve it. Recorded over two weeks at Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota, the album explored themes of angst and personal struggle, despite Kurt Cobain's claim that it was "very impersonal." Some of the tracks were remixed by producer Scott Litt for their singles, and the album was mastered by Bob Ludwig to meet both the band's and the label's preferences. In Utero was both a critical and commercial success, topping charts in the US and UK, with singles like "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies" reaching number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The album has sold 15 million copies worldwide and is certified five times platinum in the US. It was Nirvana's last release before Cobain's death in 1994.
