Doing something a little more radical.
One night while making preparations for seppuku, the ritual act of disemboweling oneself with a sharp object (in this case, with a Copyrights picture disc ), I had an awakening: I was deeply unhappy with what I was doing, so I decided to move on and try to take the difficult lessons of co-running a label for the last fifteen years in order to do something better.
As a result, I wanted to create a space for fans of punk, power-pop, and pop-punk to come together-- I am still trying to figure out what kind of content will be featured, but I suspect it will come together in due time. I want to share with you the music that I love, and hopefully, get you excited about all of the kick-ass bands that are sweating it out each and every night. This website is less about selling schlock and more about serving as a cheerleader for the countless bands that deserve to be heard and building a community of support.
In addition to creating a space for fans, my goal is to curate unique records from bands all around the world. However, the approach will be to consider the reality presented by the state of the music industry: it’s taking a header right into the ground. The future for small independent labels and bands will be centered less on album sales and more on everything else. Because of this, I have decided to take a radical approach by focusing on merchandise, digital services, and events. More, I hope to create fair relationships that put bands first, whether we sell one copy or a thousand (let's be real, it will most likely be the former than the latter).
Anyway, this is the way I want things to be, and I hope you’ll keep stopping by. Stay Rad!
