Alkaline Trio & Hot Water Music - Split - LP (Silver)
The "Alkaline Trio / Hot Water Music" split EP, released on January 22, 2002, through Jade Tree, features the Chicago-based Alkaline Trio and Gainesville's Hot Water Music, both prominent punk rock bands. This collaboration includes new material alongside unique cross-band covers: Alkaline Trio reinterprets Hot Water Music's "Rooftops" from "No Division," while Hot Water Music covers Alkaline Trio's "Radio" from "Maybe I'll Catch Fire" and "Bleeder" from "I Lied My Face Off." This EP marked the debut of Derek Grant as Alkaline Trio's drummer, succeeding Mike Felumlee. Both groups later included their songs from this EP in their respective compilation albums—Alkaline Trio's tracks appeared on "Remains" in 2007, and Hot Water Music's contributions were featured on "Till the Wheels Fall Off" in January 2008. The EP achieved notable success, reaching #36 on the Billboard Top Independent Charts in July 2002.
